Word of Welcome

A Word of Welcome from Pastor Sizemore

The changing of the seasons reminds us that we live in an ever changing world in which we all are constantly changing too. Change, while sometimes embraced enthusiastically by us, often is not.

So why do we who rejoice over the Gospel in faith, tend to deal a little more effectively with change than those people do whose lives are absent of this faith? It’s because our lives are being built on the one constant reality that never changes: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)!

Through the reconciliation with our Heavenly Father that our Beautiful Savior has brought about for us by his perfect life, his sacrificial death upon the cross and by his glorious resurrection from the dead, our great hope for the future is now made far more certain. Come what may, we know: “The Word of the Lord endures forever!” (Isaiah 40:8, I Peter 1:25)

Thank you for visiting our web site to learn more about the ministry and the outreach efforts of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. I invite you to join us on Sunday morning for one of our worship services, either at 8 AM or 10:30 AM. Here we invite you to join us in praising our Triune God for his self-revelation to us, above all, through the Gospel of his Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Emboldened by his endless, never changing love, we too now join with the church throughout the ages in singing:

“For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth, over and around us lies:
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise, this our sacrifice of praise!

For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth and friends above; for all gentle thoughts and mild:
Christ our Lord to you we raise, this our sacrifice of praise!

For Yourself Best Gift Divine to the world so freely given;
Agent of God’s grand design, Peace on earth and joy in heaven:
Christ our Lord to you we raise, this our sacrifice of praise!
